Between Military “Virtues” and Autobiography: Carlo Goldoni’s The War (1760)

On March 20th, the Department of Italian Studies’ Professor Gianni Cicali presented a lecture as the closing event in the “Books in Times of Crisis” series, sponsored by the Faculty of Literature, Culture, and Language Studies.

The talk, on the theme of the series, explored Goldoni’s work with an eye towards today’s context.

Gianni Cicali (Florence, Italy) is a specialist in History of Italian Theater (Renaissance, Baroque and 18th-century). He holds an Italian “laurea vecchio ordinamento” (M.A. equivalent) and doctoral degrees from both Italy (Università di Firenze) and Canada (University of Toronto).
